One of the ways that SOLE’s helps in “advancing the art and science of logistics” is to serve as a resource for logistics practitioners who are working on advanced degrees in logistics and logistics-related academic programs. [See the item after this for news about the most recent ‘winner’ of SOLE’s long-standing prize paper award for MS in Logistics and Supply Chain Management candidates at the Air Force Institute of Technology.] Many of the long-time SOLEtter readers may recall that in addition to its recognition of outstanding research papers, SOLE assists doctoral candidates by providing logistics practitioners the opportunity to participate in data-calls and technical surveys.
As such, SOLE HQ is pleased to announce the following request for ‘field’ input from a University of the Cumberlands (Williamsburg, Kentucky) doctoral candidate studying the leadership styles of leaders in logistics roles. The study phase for the dissertation has been approved, and data collection has begun, with dissertation completion scheduled for December, 2018. Once the dissertation has been submitted/defended and approved, SOLE will receive and make available an abstract/copy of the results to any/all interested practitioners. Here is the candidate’s call for input:
“Dear Logistics Leader,
“As a doctoral student, I am conducting a study on the leadership styles of logistics managers and leaders. The dissertation is titled “Generational Leadership in Logistics: A Causal-Comparative Study of the Leadership Styles of Logistics Leaders:”
“The only requirement for participating in the study is that you are currently a logistics leader or manager. This includes all forms of leadership and management positions, such as supervisory, coaching, managing, and executive leadership positions. If you match this description, please complete the online survey by clicking on the link below.
“Your responses will remain anonymous and protected. The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes and will ask questions regarding your leadership styles. The only demographic or personal questions asked are gender and birth year. No other identifying information is collected. You may contact me directly with any questions at swolfe2926@ucumberlands.edu.
